Dr. Allen, D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery)
Dr. Zakharyeva, D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery)
Dr. A and Dr. Z.

Dr. Allen — also known as Lieutenant Colonel Allen — has proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After graduating from dental school, he was commissioned as a Captain and began his military dental career by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C.

His commitment to service has never wavered. After five years on active duty, Dr. Allen transitioned to the Air Force Reserves, where he continues to serve today. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and currently supports the Dental Program at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), where he oversees the Dental Program for the 477th Fighter Group.

—————

Joining him in this shared mission is Dr. Zakharyeva — also known as Major Zakharyeva — who proudly serves as a Dental Officer in the 477th U.S. Air Force Reserves at JBER, Alaska.

Following dental school, Dr. Zakharyeva commissioned as a Captain in the United States Air Force and completed her Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at Travis Air Force Base in California. As part of a true military family, she served alongside her husband, Alexander, who was also active duty. Together, their Air Force careers took them across the country — including Florida, Alaska, and North Dakota — and overseas to Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

Both Dr. Allen and Dr. Zakharyeva bring their firsthand understanding of military life into their practice, offering care with the same commitment, integrity, and attention to detail that they bring to their service.

At Allen Dental Group, military families aren’t just welcomed — they’re understood, respected, and valued. Whether you’re active duty, a veteran, or part of a military family, we’re honored to care for you.

Lieutenant Colonel Bradford Allen retires after 22 years of Service in the U.S. Air Force.

After 22 years of honorable service in both Active Duty and the Reserve, Lieutenant Colonel Bradford Allen (our Dr. Allen) officially retired on March 1st, 2026 from the United States Air Force.

Surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and members of the Allen Dental Group team, the day was a meaningful celebration of a career defined by service, leadership, sacrifice, and compassion. His parents, sister and brother-in-law, wife, and three of their four children were able to attend in person, while his daughter proudly joined the ceremony by Zoom from college.

The retirement ceremony was made especially memorable through the leadership and support of several remarkable individuals. A sincere thank you to presiding official Colonel Brian J. Budde, who at the time served as Commander of the 477th Fighter Group, for leading such a meaningful ceremony and for his incredible remarks honoring Lieutenant Colonel Allen’s career and service.

Special appreciation also goes to narrator SMSgt Michael J. Krueger, Proffer MSgt Amanda Marlett, and Project Officer Captain Kristin Tribble for helping make the occasion so special and memorable. Gratitude as well to Gina Gorski, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired), former Commander of the 477th AMDF for her kind and thoughtful words shared during the celebration.

One of the most touching moments of the ceremony was a heartfelt prayer shared by his father, Brad Allen — a reminder of the strong faith, family, and support system that have guided him throughout his military journey.

Lieutenant Colonel Allen’s dedication to serving military members and their families has extended far beyond his years in uniform. Whether serving in the Air Force or caring for patients through private practice, he has always viewed it as a privilege to support those who serve our country.

Congratulations, Lieutenant Colonel Bradford Allen, on an extraordinary military career and an incredible legacy of service. Wishing you and your family all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter!

Serving beyond borders:

Dr. Z’s Mission in Guyana

Our very own Dr. Z recently returned from an incredible two-week Air Force Reserve Global Health Engagement mission in Guyana 🇬🇾.

During the deployment, she provided essential dental care to patients at West Demerara Hospital and in the remote community of Leguan Island, helping expand access to much-needed treatment in underserved areas.

Beyond the clinical work, the experience was deeply meaningful, as she was warmly welcomed by the people of Guyana and moved by their kindness and hospitality.

We are proud of Dr. Z’s dedication, service, and continued commitment to improving oral health both at home and abroad.
